Was able to work well with client many others were not able to. An increase in staff turnover and increased damages to vehicles I while at home on sick leave from head injury proposed policy changes and re worked transportation documentation. Meetings were held and I was recognized verbally as suggesting the regular staff meetings and the new policies and documentation that was going to be implemented. |

Summer 1992 | YMCA of Greater Houston, Camp Mirror Lake · Provided camp services for inner city families, Texas Child Protective Services, and Boys Harbor . During the course of the summer staff issues such as retention, several had left, and safety and professional behavior, became such an issue I made a few suggestions to my superior and asked and obtained permission to hold staff meetings during the afternoon. I scheduled coverage for the cabins and shift so every staff could attend. Notes were taken and proposals made. Many of the proposals were implemented including, for those that wanted to prayer time in the morning, and signing children out at pick-up--it had been policy to sign children in but not out, I pointed out that many children are abducted not by strangers but people they know. |

A simple solution I created was a doodle book. It became social focus for the entire dorm and kept the staff awake and alert. It also increased the social life of the community as a whole as many would stop by the desk, visit, and view the book. I also created a community information system and book for the front. Was attentive to all who entered, often received notice from my boss that people had called in and complimented me on care and concern I had shown them. I also reported one of my co-workers for putting hours not worked on time sheet; as result when latter confirmed he was relieved of duty. |
