| My father, always tried to emphasize to me that an education should be about the joy of learning, and learning to become a more complete, happy, and better person. This I was told was the purpose of education. This principle has remained with me over the years, and while at UST I learned in my philosophy and history classes was the traditional view education going back centuries. Unlike today, where many seek an education simply as a means to an end: a better job, more money, more power or influence in the work place. Education is about allowing the Truth to Impact, to Change, to Move, to Shape, and to Transform who we are. |
