Education is not about Acquisition;

but of Becoming.

My father, always tried to emphasize to me that an education should be about the joy of learning, and learning to become a more complete, happy, and better person.  This I was told was the purpose of education.  This principle has remained with me over the years, and while at UST I learned in my philosophy and history classes was the traditional view education going back centuries.  Unlike today, where many seek an education simply as a means to an end: a better job, more money, more power or influence in the work place.
